Hydrogen Peroxide is an antibacterial agent which works great as a mouth and gum cleaner keeping them free of germs. Rinse with a mixture of half water half Hydrogen Peroxide by swishing around in your mouth for about a minute.
Also, be more effective in removing plaque from your teeth by mixing Hydrogen Peroxide with baking soda. Use the paste for brushing – but make sure the mixture is runny since baking soda is gritty and can scrub away enamel if not mixed well enough.
Looks like coconut oil IS good for everything. Jokes aside, people report that their teeth have become whiter after swishing a spoonful of coconut oil in their mouth for 5 to 20 minutes or after adding a few drops to their toothbrush.
Apple Cider Vinegar works great as a natural antibiotic so it only makes sense that it’s also good for removing stubborn stains on your teeth. Compounds in ACV like acetic acid, potassium, magnesium, probiotics, and enzymes kill germs and foster the growth of “good” probiotic bacteria. It also helps break down plaque.
The key for using ACV is consistency – use it at least for a month for best results. Also, make sure not to brush too hard or too much, since it can also erode enamel.
Some also state that lemon and orange peels, or lemon essential oil may also do the trick. Similar to apple cider vinegar, one must be careful because it may wear off enamel if used too aggressively. Make sure to rinse afterward to be on the safe side.
Foods like strawberries contain many beneficial antioxidants and other compounds that can benefit dental health. However, the quality of your diet also plays an important role when it comes to the health of your whites. Foods high in magnesium and potassium like leafy green are always welcome. Celery, nuts, carrots, eggs, mushrooms, and sweet potatoes are also outstanding examples.
As you can see, there are quite a few home remedies for teeth whitening. All of these techniques mentioned above should do the trick, however, be careful since some of them can actually harm your teeth by eroding enamel.
