IV Sedation used throughout dental procedures to make patients less stressful and painful

Doral Sedation & Family Dentistry also offers intravenous or IV conscious sedation. Depending on your overall physical health and traits. Our Doral dental experts will decide if you are a better fit for some other type of sedation.

IV conscious sedation is administered via an IV, meaning you’ll feel completely calm and relaxed during the procedure and often will not be able to remember anything about the procedure after it’s done. You’ll be able to move your head to the left if the dentist needs you to, or will be able to verbally confirm that you’re not feeling any pain—but will be completely relaxed. Should you elect to receive IV conscious sedation, you need to make plans to have a friend or family member drive you home, and you’ll want to hold off on activities until the next day when the anesthesia is completely out of your system.
